Pharmacist - Gonzales, Louisiana

This pharmacist opportunity offers both onsite and remote work options in Gonzales, LA, with a contract-to-hire engagement lasting 13 weeks focused on Medication Therapy Management. Candidates must hold an active Louisiana pharmacist license plus at least five additional licenses from the following states: DC, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. Preference is given to applicants licensed in these specified states.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately following physician orders and established protocols.
• Interpret prescriptions and maintain complete and accurate computerized patient medication profiles.
• Issue controlled substances while complying with legal regulations and maintain detailed records.
• Monitor drug therapy for interactions, appropriateness, and contraindications; detect and report adverse drug reactions promptly.
• Provide clinical consultations and suggest cost-effective therapeutic alternatives.
• Document clinical activities thoroughly and participate in quality improvement and medication use review processes.
• Supervise pharmacy support personnel, verify their daily activities, and participate in performance evaluations.
• Organize and prioritize workload to ensure timely pharmacy services with minimal supervision.
• Conduct medication storage area inspections, replacing outdated or unusable drugs.
• Maintain professionalism in all patient and staff interactions, including telephone and window requests.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana pharmacist license.
• Multiple state pharmacist licenses—with a goal of licensure in 10 additional states beyond Louisiana within 18 months.
• Prior experience in retail or hospital pharmacy settings.
