Pharmacist - Grand Junction, CO

A full-time Pharmacist position is available to provide specialized oncology pharmacy services at a community hospital in Grand Junction, CO. This direct hire role involves clinical and operational support, ensuring medication safety, regulatory compliance, and effective patient counseling within an oncology-focused healthcare setting.

• Must relocate to Grand Junction prior to start

Position Type:

• Full-Time, Direct Hire

Primary Responsibilities:

• Review and verify provider medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and drug interactions
• Prepare, compound, and dispense medications (oral, IV, topical, enteral) according to protocols and regulations
• Monitor patient therapy for safety and effectiveness; collaborate with medical providers to adjust treatment plans
• Provide drug information and education to healthcare staff and patients
• Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and adherence to treatment
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and staff
• Ensure accurate documentation and maintain compliance with regulatory standards, including USP requirements
• Manage medication inventory, monitor shortages or recalls
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical programs
• Serve as acting Pharmacy Director as needed
• Verify product integrity prior to distribution

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year related experience or equivalent education and experience
• Current, unrestricted Colorado Pharmacist license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications required
