A full-time Pharmacist position is available to provide specialized oncology pharmacy services at a community hospital in Grand Junction, CO. This direct hire role involves clinical and operational support, ensuring medication safety, regulatory compliance, and effective patient counseling within an oncology-focused healthcare setting.

Position Type:

Primary Responsibilities:
- Review and verify provider medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and drug interactions
- Prepare, compound, and dispense medications (oral, IV, topical, enteral) according to protocols and regulations
- Monitor patient therapy for safety and effectiveness; collaborate with medical providers to adjust treatment plans
- Provide drug information and education to healthcare staff and patients
- Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and adherence to treatment
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and staff
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintain compliance with regulatory standards, including USP requirements
- Manage medication inventory, monitor shortages or recalls
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical programs
- Serve as acting Pharmacy Director as needed
- Verify product integrity prior to distribution
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year related experience or equivalent education and experience
- Current, unrestricted Colorado Pharmacist license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications required
