A full-time Pharmacist position is available supporting oncology services at a community hospital in Grand Junction, CO. This role involves clinical and operational pharmacy support within an oncology setting, focusing on medication management, patient counseling, and ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Location: Grand Valley Oncology, Grand Junction, CO

Relocation: Required to Grand Junction, CO (81505) prior to start

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and interactions
  • Prepare, compound, and dispense medications (oral, IV, topical, enteral) per protocols and regulations
  • Monitor patient therapy for safety and efficacy; collaborate with providers on treatment adjustments
  • Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients
  • Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and adherence
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and staff
  • Ensure accurate documentation and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain medication inventory; monitor for shortages or recalls
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical programs
  • Serve as acting Pharmacy Director when needed
  • Verify product integrity before distribution
  • Maintain compliance with United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
  • At least one year of related experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Current, unrestricted Colorado Pharmacist license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications required
