A full-time pharmacist opportunity is available to support oncology services at a community hospital located in Grand Junction, CO. This direct hire position involves delivering both clinical and operational pharmacy services, including medication management, patient counseling, and ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory standards within the oncology department.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify provider medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions
  • Prepare, compound, and dispense medications (oral, IV, topical, enteral) in compliance with protocols and regulations
  • Monitor patient therapy for safety and efficacy; collaborate with care providers to adjust treatments as needed
  • Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients
  • Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and adherence strategies
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and staff members
  • Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to regulatory compliance
  • Maintain medication inventory; monitor for drug shortages or recalls
  • Participate in quality improvement and clinical program initiatives
  • Serve as acting Pharmacy Director when required
  • Verify integrity of all products prior to distribution
  • Maintain compliance with current United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred with at least one year of related experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Current, unrestricted Colorado Pharmacist license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications required
  • Must be willing to relocate to Grand Junction, CO (81505) prior to start
