A full-time Pharmacist opportunity is available to provide specialized oncology pharmacy support at a community hospital in Grand Junction, CO. This role combines clinical expertise and operational responsibilities to ensure optimal medication management and patient care in an oncology setting.

Location:

  • Grand Valley Oncology, Grand Junction, CO
  • In-person, onsite position
  • Relocation to Grand Junction (81505) required prior to start

Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Direct Hire, full-time
  • Responsible for supporting oncology services with comprehensive pharmacy functions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, appropriate dosing, and potential interactions
  • Prepare, compound, and dispense medications via multiple routes (oral, IV, topical, enteral) according to established protocols and regulations
  • Monitor patient therapy for safety and effectiveness, collaborating with healthcare providers on treatment adjustments
  • Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients
  • Counsel patients regarding medication use, side effects, and adherence to therapy
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and staff, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations
  • Maintain precise documentation and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
  • Manage medication inventory; monitor for drug shortages and recalls
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical programs
  • Serve as acting Pharmacy Director when assigned
  • Verify integrity of all products prior to distribution and uphold USP standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
  • Minimum of one year related pharmacy experience or equivalent
  • Active, unrestricted Colorado Pharmacist license
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) required
