A well-established independent community pharmacy is seeking a full-time pharmacist to support an increased prescription volume resulting from several local pharmacy closures. This travel assignment is based in Ogallala, Nebraska, with an anticipated 13-week term starting as soon as possible. The pharmacy is expanding operations, including opening a second location, making this an excellent opportunity for someone interested in a contract role with potential for temp-to-perm or permanent placement through relocation.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Some weekends as needed
  • 1st shift

About the Team: The pharmacy staff includes two pharmacists during weekdays and three on Sundays, supported by five experienced technicians. The team has been with the company for over 12 years, ensuring solid backing and a collaborative work environment. The pharmacy uses Liberty Rx software and currently fills over 10,000 prescriptions per month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medications accurately and ensure safe, efficient delivery to patients under manager supervision
  • Provide counseling and advice on medication regimens
  • Address patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and in accordance with policies
  • Maintain inventories, including controlled substances and stock records
  • Resolve patient issues and clarify insurance coverage questions
  • Administer immunizations as required

Qualifications:

  • Active and clear pharmacist license in Nebraska
  • Minimum of one year retail pharmacy experience, retail background preferred
  • Strong communication skills and patient-focused approach
