A healthcare facility in Grants, NM is seeking an experienced Pharmacist to oversee pharmacy operations, ensure safe and accurate medication dispensing, and provide clinical pharmacy services to support patient care. This direct hire role offers the opportunity to apply your clinical expertise while contributing to departmental leadership and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare, fill, label, and dispense medications including parenteral drugs and IV solutions
  • Monitor patient drug therapies for safety, suitability, and effectiveness with age-specific considerations
  • Provide drug information and education to healthcare providers and patients
  • Manage pharmacy inventory and maintain records in compliance with legal standards
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
  • Participate in formulary management and oversee automated dispensing machine updates
  • Respond to emergencies as part of Rapid Response Teams and Code Blue situations
  • Maintain professional competency through continuing education and adhere to compliance policies
  • Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Pharmacy Director

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
  • Active New Mexico pharmacy license in good standing
  • 1–2 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations considered
  • Strong clinical pharmacology knowledge and excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and proficiency with pharmacy information systems
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform repetitive hand movements and operate pharmacy equipment
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods
