Pharmacist in Grants, NM

A direct hire opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support pharmacy operations and clinical services. Located in Grants, NM, this role is essential in ensuring safe and effective medication use while overseeing daily pharmacy activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Accurately preparing, filling, labeling, and dispensing medications, including parenteral and IV solutions
• Monitoring patient drug therapies for safety and therapeutic effectiveness across all age groups
• Providing drug information and education to healthcare providers and patients
• Managing pharmacy inventory and maintaining compliance with legal and quality standards
• Supervising pharmacy technicians and collaborating on formulary and automated dispensing system management
• Participating in emergency response teams and code situations
• Completing competency evaluations and engaging in continuing education
• Upholding compliance with regulations, ethical standards, and fostering collaboration within the healthcare team

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy, BS required, PharmD preferred
• Current, active New Mexico pharmacy license
• 1–2 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations considered
• Strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and ability to work independently
• Leadership capabilities and proficiency with pharmacy information systems and automated technology
• Commitment to patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance

Physical demands include routine standing, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, and manual dexterity related to medication preparation and equipment operation.
