This contract position offers the opportunity to oversee pharmacy operations and contribute to clinical decision-making in a hospital setting located in Grants, NM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare, label, and dispense medications, including parenteral and IV solutions, ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards
  • Monitor and evaluate patient drug therapies for safety and effectiveness, providing drug information and education to healthcare professionals and patients
  • Manage pharmacy inventory and maintain transaction records in compliance with applicable laws and policies
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and participate in formulary management and automated dispensing machine updates
  • Engage in emergency response activities, including participation in Rapid Response Teams and Code Blue events
  • Maintain professional development through continuing education and adhere to organizational compliance programs and ethical standards

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
  • Current, active license to practice in New Mexico
  • 1–2 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations considered
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and age-specific medication considerations
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with proficiency in pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technology
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform repetitive hand movements, lift up to 40 pounds, and stand or walk for extended periods (4–8 hours)
  • Capable of operating pharmacy equipment safely and effectively
