Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense medications, including parenteral and IV solutions, ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards
- Monitor and evaluate patient drug therapies for safety and effectiveness, providing drug information and education to healthcare professionals and patients
- Manage pharmacy inventory and maintain transaction records in compliance with applicable laws and policies
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and participate in formulary management and automated dispensing machine updates
- Engage in emergency response activities, including participation in Rapid Response Teams and Code Blue events
- Maintain professional development through continuing education and adhere to organizational compliance programs and ethical standards
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
- Current, active license to practice in New Mexico
- 1–2 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations considered
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and age-specific medication considerations
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with proficiency in pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technology
- Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform repetitive hand movements, lift up to 40 pounds, and stand or walk for extended periods (4–8 hours)
- Capable of operating pharmacy equipment safely and effectively
