A hospital-based pharmacist role is available at a 200-bed facility located in Tucson, AZ, offering a compelling opportunity to contribute to direct patient care and medication management in a dynamic clinical environment. Candidates with a strong background in pharmacy practices within inpatient settings will find this position fulfilling and engaging. This 13-week contract role provides flexible scheduling options, with an ideal candidate available for 7 consecutive nights on and 7 days off, though day and afternoon shifts are also available.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with physicians on drug selection and dosing to optimize patient therapy.
  • Educate nursing staff, patients, and physicians about medication use and safety protocols.
  • Lead and participate in medication safety initiatives ensuring compliance with hospital standards.
  • Monitor patient profiles for medication appropriateness and manage adverse drug reaction reporting.
  • Prepare IV admixtures and nutritional supplements with precision and maintain narcotic accountability.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Licensed Pharmacist with relevant state licensure.
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred, especially in clinical or inpatient settings.
  • Strong knowledge of medication safety standards and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Competency in aseptic preparation of IV admixtures and narcotic handling.

Location: Tucson, Arizona

Schedule/Hours:

  • Day and afternoon shifts available
  • Night shift coverage encouraged, especially for a 7-on/7-off schedule
