A hospital-based pharmacist opportunity is available for a 13-week contract to support medication safety and patient care efforts at a 200-bed facility in Tucson, AZ. The role involves collaboration with physicians and nursing staff to ensure safe and effective medication management. Pharmacists capable of working 7 days on and 7 days off shifts, especially nights, are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with physicians to recommend appropriate drugs and dosing regimens
• Educate nursing staff, physicians, and patients on medication use and safety
• Lead medication safety initiatives, including monitoring and reporting adverse drug reactions
• Manage patient profiles to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of therapy
• Prepare IV admixtures and nutritional supplements following established protocols
• Maintain narcotics accountability and compliance with regulatory standards

Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist with hospital pharmacy experience
• Familiarity with inpatient medication management and safety standards
• Ability to communicate effectively with clinical staff and patients
• Comfortable working day, afternoon, or night shifts; preference for those able to cover extended night shifts with a 7-on/7-off schedule
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
