This position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care within a closed-door mail order environment. You'll be working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays as needed. The role is temp-to-hire, with an initial 13-week assignment.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense medications per prescription orders.
- Provide medication counseling to patients on usage, side effects, and interactions.
- Review and interpret physician orders to verify therapy appropriateness.
- Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications and therapeutic duplications.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes and medication adherence.
- Maintain detailed patient records including medication histories and interventions.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
- Manage proper storage and handling of medications, monitoring for expired or damaged stock.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with inventory control including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
- Stay updated on pharmacy practice developments and engage in professional growth.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- PharmD degree required.
- Indiana Pharmacy License required.
- California Pharmacy License preferred or willingness to reciprocate (financial assistance provided).
- 1 to 3 years of retail pharmacy experience.
- Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 5%.
