This opportunity is for a Staff Pharmacist position on the 2nd shift (12:30 pm – 9 pm) in a closed-door mail order pharmacy setting. The role is temp-to-hire, with an initial duration of approximately 13 weeks, Monday through Friday, and possible Saturdays based on business needs. You will provide exceptional pharmaceutical care, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense medications according to prescription orders.
- Provide medication counseling to patients, addressing proper use, side effects, and interactions.
- Review and interpret physician orders for accuracy and appropriateness of therapy.
- Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, and duplications.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes and adherence.
- Maintain detailed patient records, including medication histories and interventions.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws.
- Manage proper storage and handling of medications, including expiry monitoring.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking.
- Deliver excellent customer service by resolving inquiries and promoting pharmacy services.
- Stay up to date with developments in pharmacy practice and engage in professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- PharmD degree required.
- Indiana Pharmacy License required.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of retail pharmacy experience.
- California Pharmacy License preferred or willingness to reciprocate (assistance with costs provided).
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.
- Willingness to travel up to 5%.
