An opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist to work in a retail and long-term care (LTC) setting, providing essential medication management and patient care services. This role offers 24 to 30 hours per week during daytime hours, with a schedule designed to support work-life balance and professional growth. The position is temp-to-hire, providing the potential for long-term employment upon successful completion of the temporary phase.
Location: Hartford, CT
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Weekend rotation every 4th week
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently in a retail and LTC environment
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and ensure patient safety
- Utilize pharmacy computer systems, including Retail Liberty and LTC Frameworks, to manage patient records and medication orders
- Provide counseling and education to patients regarding medication use, potential side effects, and adherence
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
- Participate in weekend rotations as scheduled
Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut pharmacy license required
- Proven experience in retail pharmacy; long-term care experience is a significant advantage
- Familiarity with pharmacy computer systems, specifically Retail Liberty and LTC Frameworks
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
