A psychiatric hospital in Williamsburg, VA, seeks a temporary staff pharmacist to support the facility with medication management and dispensing. This role is a contract position lasting approximately 13 weeks or until a permanent pharmacist is hired. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with additional shifts as needed to cover open hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately review and verify medication orders in a hospital inpatient setting
  • Manage and oversee automated dispensing machines to ensure proper operation and medication availability
  • Collaborate effectively with hospital administrators, physicians, and nursing staff to optimize patient care
  • Perform clinical and data entry tasks related to pharmacy operations
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards for psychiatric hospital pharmacy services

Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia pharmacist license required
  • Experience working in a hospital pharmacy environment preferred
  • Proficiency in data order entry and medication verification processes
  • Familiarity with automated dispensing machines
  • Strong communication skills tailored to multidisciplinary healthcare teams
