This travel pharmacist role supports retail pharmacy operations by providing professional medication dispensing and pharmaceutical care aligned with hospital standards and state regulations. The position operates within a full-time day shift schedule and reports directly to the Retail Pharmacy Manager and Director of Pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense prescribed medications accurately and counsel patients on proper drug use.
  • Collaborate with physicians and medical staff on safe, effective drug therapy and dosage.
  • Oversee pharmacy technicians and ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws.
  • Manage medication inventory, including ordering and secure storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Conduct medication reviews to optimize patient therapeutic outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Prepare reports and contribute to drug use policies and training programs.
  • Provide consulting services to long-term care facilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Degree from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy school; PharmD preferred.
  • Current valid state pharmacist license.
  • Minimum of three years retail pharmacist experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to adhere to healthcare compliance and safety standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Indoor, climate-controlled environment with occasional exposure to biohazards and hazardous drugs.
  • Adherence to safety protocols including mandatory respiratory protection fittings.
  • Collaboration with diverse healthcare professionals and patient populations.

Location & Housing: This position is based in Hebron, NE. Due to limited onsite accommodations, candidates should arrange local motel or hotel housing as needed. On-call rooms may be available upon request.
