A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a Sterile Compounding Pharmacist in Helotes, TX, with a schedule from 12 PM to 8 PM. This role focuses on delivering specialized pharmacy services for patients requiring home infusion therapy.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients’ eligibility for home infusion therapy and develop personalized medication plans.
  • Monitor and adjust therapy based on clinical assessments, laboratory data, and pharmacokinetics.
  • Prepare, verify, and dispense sterile medications according to USP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers on medication use, infusion administration, and safety.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless continuity of care and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Manage infusion devices, maintaining quality assurance and medication safety protocols.
  • Provide accurate drug information, maintain thorough documentation, and support compliance with pharmacy regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Texas.
  • One or more of the following: • Minimum 1 year sterile IV compounding experience, • Experience in non-sterile compounding, immunizations, and Medication Therapy Management (MTM), • Completion of an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency, • Completion of an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE), • Equivalent pharmacy experience.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of home infusion pharmacy practices.
  • Proficiency in interpreting laboratory values and applying pharmacokinetic principles.
  • Exceptional communication, patient counseling, and customer service skills.
