A remote Clinical Pharmacist Specialist role is available, focusing on managed care pharmacy within a dynamic health plan setting. This position requires a licensed pharmacist with strong expertise in clinical pharmacy services, collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective medication management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care through Medication Therapy Management (MTM) programs.
- Engage in population-based disease management and specialty drug care coordination.
- Conduct drug utilization reviews and participate in clinical policy development.
- Communicate therapeutic recommendations tactfully to physicians to optimize patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with medical directors, nurse case managers, and network providers.
- Participate actively in Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities.
- Educate healthcare professionals and members on medication-related issues.
- Develop and apply medical and drug policies to promote safe, evidence-based medication use.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment.
- Maintain professional development and clinical pharmacy expertise.
Qualifications:
- Active Pharmacist License in Oregon, Washington, or California is required.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a managed care environment, including prior authorizations, audits, appeals, and ALJ court hearings.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence provider prescribing practices effectively.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with strong time management capabilities.
- Comfort working occasionally on rare weekends, a few times per year.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
