Per Diem Pharmacist | Hixson, Tennessee

An independent compounding pharmacy is seeking a Per Diem pharmacist to provide critical vacation coverage and ongoing support. This role involves overseeing a high-volume mail order operation processing approximately 1,000 compounds daily, ensuring accuracy and quality in all products shipped.

Location: Hixson, TN (serving Chattanooga area)

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
• Lunch break: 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
• Saturday and Sunday: Closed
• Initial coverage needed May 27-29 with potential ongoing needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the work of 5 pharmacy technicians responsible for data entry, filling prescriptions, and managing phone communications
• Serve as the primary resource for clarifying questions related to pharmacy operations or prescriptions
• Oversee the mail order eye drop department, which prepares and ships three different versions of post-cataract surgery eye drops
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and company standards for quality and safety

Qualifications:

• Pharmacist license in good standing with the State of Tennessee
• Minimum 1-2 years of pharmacy experience required
• Mail order pharmacy experience preferred but not mandatory
• Strong supervisory and communication skills
