A PRN pharmacist role is available at an Indian Health Clinic, offering an opportunity to contribute to a collaborative healthcare environment. Reporting directly to the Chief Health Officer, this position supports daily pharmacy operations with a focus on safe and effective medication management.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and appropriate dosing
- Prepare and dispense medications according to regulatory and quality standards
- Verify correct filling of MedBoxes
- Counsel patients on medication use, possible side effects, and drug interactions
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient treatment plans
- Perform medication reconciliation to ensure complete and accurate medication histories
- Manage medication therapy for patients with chronic conditions
- Monitor for drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications
- Supervise pharmacy technicians in prescription filling, inventory management, and workflow completion
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist with current, unrestricted license in the state of practice
- Experience in a clinical or community pharmacy setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical best practices and regulatory standards
- Excellent communication skills to effectively counsel patients and collaborate with healthcare teams
- Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure operational efficiency
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation abilities
