This opportunity seeks a dedicated pharmacist to support pharmacy operations within an Indian Health Clinic environment. Reporting directly to the Chief Health Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe, effective medication management and patient care. The position requires a professional who thrives in a collaborative setting, partnering with healthcare professionals to optimize treatment outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and appropriate dosing
  • Prepare and dispense medications in compliance with regulatory and quality standards
  • Verify accurate filling of MedBoxes
  • Provide patient counseling on medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on individualized treatment plans
  • Perform medication reconciliation to ensure complete and accurate medication histories
  • Manage medication therapy for patients with chronic conditions
  • Monitor for drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, guiding prescription filling, inventory management, and operational workflows
  • Maintain precise patient records and documentation
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Licensed pharmacist with current registration in the state of Florida
  • Experience in a clinical or community pharmacy setting, preferably with exposure to Indian Health Clinic protocols
  • Strong knowledge of medication therapy management and drug safety principles
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient counseling and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Ability to supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and record-keeping skills

Dress Code: Scrubs or business casual attire (excluding all black)
