A travel pharmacist opportunity is available in Honolulu, HI, offering a dynamic role in a clinical hospital setting with a 16-week duration. This assignment provides a guaranteed 40-hour workweek with a rotating schedule between day and evening shifts, ideal for pharmacists seeking a balanced and engaging work environment.
Schedule:
- Day Shift Rotation: Five 8-hour shifts per week (06:30-15:00 or 08:30-17:00)
- Evening Shift Rotation: Four 10-hour shifts per week (11:00-21:30 or 12:30-23:00)
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with medical teams during clinical rounds to optimize patient drug therapy.
- Monitor and adjust patient medication regimens, including pharmacokinetic dosing.
- Provide patient counseling and education to ensure safe and effective medication use.
- Participate in unit dose and intravenous (IV) service operations.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Clinical Hospital Pharmacist.
- Proven ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary medical rounds.
- Expertise in pharmacokinetics, patient counseling, and drug therapy monitoring.
- Experience with unit dose and IV pharmacy services is preferred.
- Current Hawaii State license as a Registered Pharmacist is required.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree preferred.
- Completion of a post-graduate clinical residency accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists is preferred.
