A travel pharmacist position is available in Honolulu, HI, offering a 16-week assignment starting ASAP. This role involves providing clinical pharmacy services with a focus on patient care in a hospital setting, working collaboratively with medical teams to optimize drug therapy.
Schedule and Hours:
- Rotating shifts between day and evening
- Day Shift Rotation: five 8-hour shifts per week (06:30–15:00 or 08:30–17:00)
- Evening Shift Rotation: four 10-hour shifts per week (11:00–21:30 or 12:30–23:00)
- 40 hours guaranteed weekly
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in rounding with medical teams to review and manage patient drug therapies
- Provide pharmacokinetic dosing and patient counseling/education
- Manage unit dose and intravenous (IV) services to ensure accurate medication distribution and administration
- Monitor patient responses to medications and make necessary adjustments in collaboration with healthcare providers
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years as a clinical hospital pharmacist
- Preferably experienced in medical team rounding, pharmacokinetic dosing, and patient counseling
- Familiarity with unit dose and IV pharmacy services is preferred
- Current Hawaii State license as a Registered Pharmacist required
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree preferred
- Post-graduate clinical residency accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) preferred
