A travel pharmacist opportunity is available in Honolulu, HI, offering a dynamic role within a clinical hospital setting for approximately 16 weeks starting ASAP. This position is ideal for pharmacists with strong clinical experience who enjoy working closely with medical teams to optimize patient care.
Key responsibilities include collaborating in patient rounding with healthcare professionals, monitoring drug therapy effectiveness, performing pharmacokinetic dosing, and providing patient counseling and education. Experience in unit dose and IV services is highly beneficial.
Schedule and hours are as follows:
- Rotating between day shifts (5 days per week, 8-hour shifts) and evening shifts (4 days per week, 10-hour shifts)
- Day shifts: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Evening shifts: 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM or 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM
- 40 hours guaranteed weekly
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Minimum of 2 years as a Clinical Hospital Pharmacist
- Proven ability to work collaboratively during patient rounds with medical teams
- Competence in pharmacokinetic dosing and patient education
- Familiarity with unit dose and IV medication services preferred
- Current Hawaii Registered Pharmacist license required
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree preferred
- Post-graduate clinical residency accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) preferred
