A pharmacist opportunity is available for an overnight shift at a healthcare facility specializing in women's services in Houston, TX. This 14-week contract begins March 2nd and follows a 7-on/7-off schedule from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. The role supports pharmaceutical care by managing medication processes for patients ranging from newborn to adult, ensuring safety and efficacy throughout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and promote pharmaceutical care by identifying, preventing, and resolving potential drug-related problems.
  • Verify appropriateness of medication doses considering diagnosis, weight, allergies, and drug interactions to prevent medication incidents.
  • Accurately enter medication orders into the computer system (EPIC EMR) with precision to avoid errors.
  • Ensure correct dispensing of medications and timely processing of medication orders within established guidelines.
  • Adhere to aseptic technique and infection control protocols in the preparation of sterile products, including ensuring compliance among staff and completing annual recertification with a minimum passing score.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience, pediatric experience preferred.
  • Valid Texas pharmacist license.
  • ACPE IV Certification required.
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system.

Location: Houston, TX (Pavilion for Women site, 6651 Main Street)

Shift: Overnight, 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM, 7 days on/7 days off
