A healthcare facility in Houston, TX is seeking a Pharmacist for an overnight shift at a specialized women’s pavilion site. This 14-week contract position begins March 2 and offers a consistent 7 on/7 off schedule, working from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. The role requires expertise in managing the medication process with a focus on patient safety and developmental appropriateness from newborns through adults.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage pharmaceutical care by identifying, preventing, and resolving drug-related problems
  • Verify medication orders for appropriateness regarding diagnosis, patient weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions
  • Accurately enter medication orders into the electronic medical record system (EPIC)
  • Ensure correct medication dispensing and timely delivery according to established guidelines
  • Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during sterile product preparation; enforce these standards among pharmacy staff
  • Maintain documentation with zero medication incidents, dispensing errors, or patient complaints

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably with pediatric patients
  • Valid Texas Pharmacist license
  • ACPE IV Certification
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system encouraged
