A facility located in Houston, TX is seeking a Pharmacist for an overnight position at a women's pavilion site. This 14-week contract role begins on March 2nd and operates on a 7-on/7-off schedule with shifts from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the medication process to promote pharmaceutical care by identifying, preventing, and resolving drug-related problems.
  • Ensure medication doses are appropriate based on the patient’s diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and potential drug interactions.
  • Accurately enter medication orders into the computer system, minimizing errors.
  • Verify that patients receive the correct medications, maintaining a record free from dispensing errors.
  • Process medication orders and deliver doses within established time frames and guidelines.
  • Adhere to aseptic technique and infection control protocols during sterile product preparation, ensuring others comply and meeting re-certification requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience, with pediatric inpatient experience preferred.
  • Licensed Pharmacist in Texas.
  • ACPE IV Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system is a plus.

Shift Details:

  • Overnight, 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 7 days on, 7 days off
