This opportunity is for a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)/Staff Pharmacist role at a healthcare facility specializing in psychiatric care. The position requires oversight of pharmacy operations and direct involvement in daily medication dispensing and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and quality pharmacy practices.
- Manage daily pharmacy operations, including staffing coordination and supervision of pharmacy technicians and PRN pharmacists.
- Facilitate proper medication order entry using the HCS system, with provided training.
- Provide coverage and support during weekdays, with occasional weekend and on-call responsibilities as needed to maintain continuous pharmacy service.
- Support psych specialty care by ensuring accurate and timely medication distribution and counseling.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Active Texas Pharmacist license is mandatory.
- Experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or Pharmacy Manager preferred.
- Background in psychiatric pharmacy or hospital pharmacy setting highly valued.
- Ability to oversee pharmacy staffing and workflow while maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Comfort with technology and willingness to learn the HCS order entry system.
Location:
- Humble, TX, with preference given to local candidates for ease of commuting.
- Facility staffed by 2 technicians and 3 PRN pharmacists, providing a collaborative work environment.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Possible weekend coverage: 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM if per diem staff are unavailable.
- On-call coverage to address coverage gaps may be required.
