Pharmacist - Hyattsville, MD

A specialty pharmacy focused on behavioral health medications is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a full-time contract position. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment dedicated to providing expert pharmaceutical care for behavioral health patients.

Location: Baltimore, MD
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 3–5 days per week (preference for 3 days, flexible up to 5 days)

Responsibilities:

• Verify prescriptions with accuracy and attention to detail
• Provide comprehensive patient counseling to ensure medication understanding and adherence
• Manage and oversee the daily activities of pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient pharmacy operations
• Collaborate with a team of pharmacists and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Active Maryland Pharmacist license in good standing, with no disciplinary history
• Previous experience in retail or specialty pharmacy settings preferred
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in behavioral medications
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and support pharmacy technicians

Pharmacy Environment:

• Specialty focus on behavioral health medications
• Daily prescription volume ranges from 100 to 200
• Utilizes PioneerRX pharmacy system
• Support team includes 5 pharmacy technicians and 1 additional staff pharmacist on shift, with two pharmacists covering at all times

This full-time contract position requires availability for a minimum of 6 weeks, with a flexible schedule to accommodate 3 to 5 days per week.
