An established compounding pharmacy in Ohio is seeking a seasoned Pharmacist-in-Charge to oversee regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and leadership operations at their Albany facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring adherence to FDA, DEA, and State Board regulations while driving continuous improvement in quality systems. The opportunity offers a direct hire arrangement with the possibility of a temp-to-perm transition for candidates considering relocation. Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, onsite in Albany, Ohio
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge for Ohio and additional non-resident states as needed
- Ensure compliance with FDA, DEA, State Boards, and Section 503B regulations
- Maintain pharmacist and facility licenses across multiple states
- Lead inspections and represent the facility during regulatory audits (Board, FDA, DEA)
- Develop, review, and maintain SOPs and training programs
- Oversee regulatory reporting, recalls, complaints, and quality investigations
- Manage QA/QC functions including batch record reviews, deviations, environmental monitoring, and validations
- Implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Review change controls, product labeling, and annual product reviews
- Present quality metrics to site and corporate leadership
Qualifications:
- Active Ohio Pharmacist license in good standing; multi-state licensure preferred
- Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy degree (BS Pharm or PharmD)
- Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience managing teams
- Strong knowledge of cGMP, FDA and DEA regulations, sterile injectable manufacturing, and non-sterile compounding
- Proven ability to lead inspections and regulatory audits
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- 10+ years in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries
- 7+ years in quality or compliance roles with escalating responsibility
