Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) – Part-Time Contract Opportunity
This role offers a unique chance to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge at an Opioid Treatment Center, overseeing pharmacy operations and ensuring regulatory compliance in Alexandria, Louisiana. The position is part-time, with a consistent schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM (20 hours per week). The contract is for 1 year, with potential for extension or transition to direct hire.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, managing pharmacy operations and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Verify and fill prescriptions when a technician is unavailable
- Perform chart reviews and maintain accurate documentation
- Complete internal reports and forms utilizing Microsoft Excel
- Work independently, stepping in to support operations without technician assistance
- Minimal patient interaction unless requested
- No billing or insurance processing required
Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing without any negative history
- 3–5 years of pharmacy experience
- Substance abuse or opioid treatment experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision
