Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) – Opioid Treatment Center | Part-Time | Alexandria, LA
This position offers a unique opportunity to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge at a specialized Opioid Treatment Center. The role requires a dedicated professional to oversee pharmacy operations with a focus on compliance, patient safety, and accurate medication dispensing in a supportive, contract setting.
Schedule and Location:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
- 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM (20 hours per week)
- Alexandria, Louisiana
Responsibilities:
- Oversee pharmacy operations as the Pharmacist in Charge, ensuring seamless daily workflow
- Perform chart reviews and maintain meticulous documentation
- Verify prescriptions and dispense medications when pharmacy technicians are unavailable
- Complete internal reports and forms, primarily using Microsoft Excel
- Ensure strict adherence to all state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Operate independently in the absence of technician support
- Limited direct patient interaction, only when requested
- No billing or insurance processing duties involved
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative license history
- 3 to 5 years of professional pharmacy experience
- Experience in substance abuse or opioid treatment settings is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work autonomously and manage responsibilities effectively
