Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Amherst, Massachusetts

This opportunity is ideal for a Pharmacist looking to take on a leadership role as a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) in an independent retail pharmacy environment. The position offers a contract-to-hire arrangement with potential for direct hire after a 13-week period.

Location: Amherst, MA
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the sole pharmacist managing daily operations in a busy independent retail setting
• Oversee pharmacy staff, which includes three pharmacy technicians
• Manage prescription processing for approximately 100 scripts per day using Computer RX order entry system
• Ensure compliance with Massachusetts state pharmacy regulations and maintain high standards of patient care and safety
• Provide leadership and assume full Pharmacy-in-Charge responsibilities or grow into this role if currently a staff pharmacist

Qualifications:

• Valid Massachusetts Pharmacy License required
• Previous retail pharmacy experience mandatory
• Experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge is a strong plus; however, motivated staff pharmacists seeking to advance into pharmacy management are encouraged to apply
• Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively lead pharmacy operations and staff
