This role offers an opportunity to oversee and enhance compounding operations within an animal health pharmacy setting. The position requires strong leadership and a comprehensive understanding of pharmacy compounding standards and regulations.

Location:

  • Bakersfield, CA

Position Type:

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:15 AM – 5:15 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of pharmacists focused on producing high-quality compounded preparations for animal health.
  • Establish and uphold productivity and quality benchmarks within the compounding team.
  • Support daily compounding operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards, along with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate training documentation and verify that compounding procedures meet quality standards.
  • Assist with drug selection for dispensing and compounded formulations.
  • Identify opportunities for process or formulation improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy leadership and cross-functional teams to support operational goals.
  • Uphold confidentiality and enforce company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Current pharmacist license in California in good standing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing pharmacy laboratory personnel.
  • 2 to 5 years of compounding experience, specifically in compliance with USP <795>, <797>, <800>, and 503A requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Benefits / Compensation:

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $160,000 to $185,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Eligibility for bonus opportunities.
