Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Arvin, California

A leading animal health compounding pharmacy in Bakersfield, CA, is seeking a Pharmacy Supervisor to manage and guide a team of pharmacists dedicated to producing high-quality compounded preparations. This full-time, onsite position offers a structured Monday–Friday schedule from 8:15 AM to 5:15 PM, providing an excellent opportunity to lead pharmacy operations within a specialized compounding environment.

Responsibilities include overseeing daily compounding workflows, ensuring compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards, maintaining accurate training documentation, and collaborating with pharmacy leadership to drive continuous improvement. As a Pharmacy Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining quality standards, supporting your team’s development, and identifying enhancements in compounding processes and formulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of pharmacists with clear productivity and quality goals
• Support daily compounding operations and workflow management
• Ensure compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800>, state regulations, and 503A requirements
• Maintain accurate training records and enforce proper compounding procedures
• Assist with drug selection and compounding for dispensing
• Identify and recommend process and formulation improvements
• Collaborate with pharmacy leadership and other departments while maintaining confidentiality and compliance

Qualifications:

• Current California Pharmacist license in good standing
• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 2 years managing pharmacy lab staff
• 2–5 years of compounding pharmacy experience
• Strong knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, State Board regulations, and 503A compliance
• Effective leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

This contract role offers competitive compensation, including a base salary ranging from $160,000 to $185,000 plus bonus eligibility, based on experience. Eligible benefits are also provided.
