An established compounding pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to oversee regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and operational leadership at its Ohio facility. This on-site role offers long-term stability, career growth, and the opportunity to lead within a nationally recognized organization. - Onsite in Albany, Ohio
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge for Ohio and additional non-resident state licenses as applicable
- Ensure compliance with FDA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, and Section 503B requirements
- Maintain pharmacist and facility licensure across multiple states
- Lead and represent the site during Board of Pharmacy, FDA, and DEA inspections
- Develop, review, and maintain SOPs and training materials
- Oversee regulatory reporting, recalls, complaints, and quality investigations
- Provide regulatory guidance to cross-functional teams
- Manage quality assurance and control activities, including batch record review, deviations, investigations, and environmental monitoring
- Lead validation efforts for equipment, systems, and processes
- Implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Review and approve change controls, product labeling, and annual product reviews
- Oversee vendor qualification, incoming materials, and reserve sample programs
- Analyze environmental monitoring data and conduct root cause investigations
- Present quality metrics to site and corporate leadership
Qualifications:
- Active Ohio Pharmacist license in good standing; multi-state licensure preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing teams in pharmacy or related industry
- Strong knowledge of cGMP, FDA and DEA regulations, sterile injectable manufacturing, and non-sterile compounding
- Proven experience leading regulatory inspections and audits
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- 10+ years in pharma, biotech, or medical device industries
- 7+ years in quality or compliance roles with increasing responsibility
