Pharmacist in Charge in Avondale, PA

An opportunity is available for an interim pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a 10-bed micro-hospital and emergency department facility in West Grove, PA. This contract role is ideal for a pharmacist with inpatient experience seeking a leadership position in a unique, small-scale hospital setting.

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing all pharmacy operations and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements
• Performing PIC duties such as audits, medication restocking, and maintaining inventory
• Managing medication order entry using the Cerner system and operating Omnicell automation devices
• Being the sole pharmacist on site to deliver pharmacy services without technician support
• Providing on-call availability with minimal likelihood of being called in
• Collaborating remotely with the local PIC and Pharmacy Director for training and guidance

Qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania pharmacist license required
• Proven inpatient pharmacy experience essential
• Strong knowledge of Cerner order entry system and Omnicell automation preferred
• Capability to take independent responsibility for pharmacy operations in a small hospital environment

Schedule & Location:

• Full-time, Monday through Friday, day shift coverage
• Contract position from May 18 through June 30, with possibility of extension
• Located in West Grove, Pennsylvania
