Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Bakersfield, California

An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Supervisor specializing in compounding within an animal health pharmacy setting. This full-time, onsite role is situated in Bakersfield, CA, providing leadership to a team of pharmacists dedicated to producing high-quality compounded medications tailored for animal health.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 8:15 AM to 5:15 PM

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop pharmacy staff, fostering a productive and quality-focused team environment
• Establish and communicate clear productivity and quality goals
• Oversee daily compounding operations ensuring efficient workflow
• Ensure strict compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards as well as state and federal regulations
• Maintain accurate training documentation and verify adherence to proper compounding procedures
• Support drug selection processes for both dispensing and compounded products
• Identify opportunities to improve formulations and operational processes
• Collaborate closely with pharmacy leadership and cross-functional departments
• Uphold confidentiality and company policies consistently

Qualifications:

• Current California Pharmacist license in good standing
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 2 years managing pharmacy personnel in a lab or compounding environment
• Between 2 to 5 years of compounding experience
• In-depth knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, 503A compounding standards, and state pharmacy board regulations
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring capabilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

This contract position offers an attractive base salary between $160,000 and $185,000 annually, plus bonus opportunities based on experience. Eligibility for benefits is also provided.
