This pharmacy leadership opportunity offers a dynamic role combining Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge responsibilities at an acute care facility. The position focuses on maintaining high standards of pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and staff coordination in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Location:
Clewiston, FL (Belle Glade area)

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:00 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM
  • No weekend coverage

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pharmacy leadership and oversight, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies including Joint Commission (TJC) standards and Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Prepare and support TJC inspections and ongoing accreditation requirements
  • Manage pharmacy operations including inpatient pharmacy services across ICU, outpatient infusion, surgery, and medical-surgical units
  • Oversee sterile compounding processes, with technical compounding primarily performed by pharmacy technicians
  • Collaborate with medical staff through Collaborative Practice Agreements (CPA) utilizing the CPSI system
  • Supervise a pharmacy team consisting of 3 technicians, 1 full-time pharmacist, and 4 PRN pharmacists
  • Ensure smooth operation despite limited staffing during the week
  • Participate in training and orientation activities to facilitate transition into the role

Desired Qualifications:

  • Licensed Florida Pharmacist and Consultant Pharmacist licensure required
  • Minimum 3 years of pharmacy management experience, preferably in an inpatient setting
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn CPSI order entry system and Omnicell automation
  • Experience with sterile compounding and working knowledge of Joint Commission standards
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage staff and maintain regulatory compliance

Additional Information:

  • Training begins April 1st, with official PIC responsibilities starting April 6th until permanent hire
  • Facility offers tech support and in-house staff to assist with training
  • Dress code: Business attire expected
