Provide pharmacy leadership and oversight as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge at a healthcare facility serving acute care and specialty patient populations. This contract role focuses on supporting a smoothly functioning pharmacy department while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and readiness for The Joint Commission (TJC) inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead pharmacy operations including oversight of inpatient, ICU, outpatient infusion, surgery, and medical-surgical services
  • Prepare and support TJC accreditation readiness and annual Board of Pharmacy inspections
  • Manage staffing schedules, supporting 3 pharmacy technicians, 1 full-time pharmacist, and 4 PRN pharmacists
  • Monitor sterile compounding compliance; collaborate with staff performing compounding tasks
  • Review and oversee Clinical Pharmacy Agreements (CPA) within CPSI order entry system
  • Work closely with pharmacy consultants and leadership to maintain compliance with Florida licensing
  • Ensure daily pharmacy operations meet established policies, regulatory, and safety standards
  • Provide staff training and support during initial onboarding period beginning April 1

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida Pharmacist and Consultant Licenses required
  • Minimum 3 years of pharmacy management experience in an inpatient setting
  • Familiarity with TJC standards and sterile compounding regulations
  • Experience or willingness to train on CPSI and Omnicell automation systems
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a multidisciplinary team
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance and quality assurance

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM; no weekend coverage required

Location and Logistics:

  • Situated in a healthcare facility near Clewiston, FL
  • Nearest airports: Fort Myers and Palm Beach
  • Local candidates preferred; flexible to train and orient based on availability
