A Long-Term Care Pharmacist in Charge is needed to lead a closed-door LTC pharmacy in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This direct hire position requires an experienced leader who can effectively manage pharmacy operations, maintain regulatory compliance, and provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment handling approximately 600 prescriptions per day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing and medication counseling
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances
  • Develop and implement policies to promote safe, efficient pharmacy practices
  • Supervise and support pharmacy staff, fostering professional growth and teamwork
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing staff training
  • Manage medication inventory levels to reduce waste
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve medication issues
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints with excellent service
  • Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes
  • Lead pharmacy quality improvement initiatives and conduct regular safety audits
  • Ensure a clean, safe working environment following infection control protocols

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active and clear Massachusetts Pharmacist license required
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in long-term care pharmacy
  • Recent management experience in LTC preferred; retail PIC experience not sought
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software; training on Frameworks system provided

Schedule:

  • Primarily Monday through Friday day shift with occasional evening coverage
  • Weekend work as needed
