A compounding pharmacy in Chandler, AZ is seeking a knowledgeable Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to oversee regulatory compliance, pharmacy operations, and quality assurance during a transition to a new location. This contract position is temp-to-perm and offers flexibility in scheduling for a full-time day shift. The contract is expected to last 13+ weeks, enabling the successful candidate to lead a seamless decommissioning process while maintaining exceptional standards.
This role requires a highly responsible professional to ensure adherence to Arizona Board of Pharmacy regulations alongside FDA, DEA, and USP <795>/<797> guidelines. The PIC will manage licensure across multiple states, lead regulatory inspections, and cultivate a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the designated PIC for Arizona and other licensed states (AL, AK, AR, IL, KS, KY, LA, MD, MA, MS, NE, NV, OH, OK, OR, TN, TX).
- Maintain active pharmacist licensure and oversee compliance with 503A compounding pharmacy standards.
- Lead regulatory inspections and audits, acting as primary representative for the pharmacy.
- Develop, update, and implement SOPs and staff training programs to reinforce quality and safety standards.
- Manage reporting obligations including theft/loss reports and notifications to the Board of Pharmacy regarding changes in PIC, staff, or pharmacy hours.
- Ensure maintenance of licensure, accreditation, and regulatory documentation completeness and accuracy.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy.
- Active pharmacist license in Arizona plus at least one other state among those listed, or collaboration with another pharmacist sharing license coverage.
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience, including conducting and hosting regulatory inspections.
- Knowledge of compounding pharmacy operations and DEA regulatory requirements essential.
