Retail Pharmacist in Charge - Citrus Heights, CA

An Interim Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) opportunity is available for an immediate start at a retail pharmacy location in the Citrus Heights, CA area. This contract assignment is expected to last approximately 8 to 13 weeks, offering a hands-on leadership role overseeing full pharmacy operations in a busy retail environment.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Closed Sundays

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle prescription processing and dispensing, including communication with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients
• Supervise and manage pharmacy technicians to ensure compliance and efficiency
• Handle opening and closing duties of the pharmacy
• Fulfill all Pharmacist In Charge duties, including regulatory paperwork completion

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active California pharmacist license
• Minimum of 2 years recent retail pharmacy experience; prior Retail PIC experience strongly preferred
• Current immunization certification and BLS card required
• Proficient with McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system preferred
• Ability and willingness to take on full PIC responsibilities

This contract is open to local candidates in the Citrus Heights area, but travelers will be considered and supported with mileage reimbursement, meal stipends, and approved lodging arrangements.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to lead pharmacy operations while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance. Selected candidates will be interviewed by the pharmacy leadership team.
