This opportunity seeks an experienced Pharmacy professional to serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a healthcare facility in Clewiston, FL. This contract role offers a chance to provide leadership in an inpatient setting while ensuring regulatory compliance and smooth pharmacy operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide pharmacy leadership and oversight for inpatient services, including Acute Care ICU, outpatient infusion, surgery, and med-surg units
- Prepare for and support The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation processes
- Manage pharmacy operations and compliance with all regulatory requirements, including Board of Pharmacy (BOP) standards
- Oversee sterile compounding activities, primarily performed by pharmacy technicians
- Work collaboratively with limited pharmacy staff: 3 technicians, 1 full-time pharmacist, and 4 PRN pharmacists
- Utilize order entry system (CPSI) and site automation software (Omnicell), with on-site training provided as needed
- Support ongoing pharmacy services from Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to approximately 4:30/5:00 pm (no weekend coverage required)
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Florida Pharmacist and Consultant licensure required
- Minimum 3 years of pharmacy management experience, preferably in inpatient or acute care settings
- Familiarity with TJC accreditation standards and sterile compounding practices
- Experience with CPSI and Omnicell preferred but training available
- Strong organizational skills and attention to regulatory compliance requirements
