Pharmacist in Charge - Coatesville, PA

A contract opportunity is available for an Interim Staff Pharmacist to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a micro-hospital specializing in emergency and inpatient care. This position requires a dedicated pharmacist with inpatient experience and the ability to independently manage pharmacy operations in a small facility setting.

Location: West Grove, PA
Facility: Micro-hospital with 10 licensed beds and a 10-bed Emergency Department
Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shift
Duration: May 18 – June 30 (possibility of extension)
On-call: Required, though calls are infrequent

Key Responsibilities:

• Assume full Pharmacist in Charge responsibilities, including daily pharmacy operations oversight
• Conduct audits, restock medications, and ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations
• Manage the medication distribution system using Cerner order entry and Omnicell automation
• Operate independently as the sole pharmacist on site without technician support
• Coordinate remotely with the local PIC and Pharmacy Director for onboarding and ongoing support

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Current Pennsylvania pharmacist licensure is mandatory
• Proven inpatient pharmacy experience required
• Strong organizational and operational skills, with the ability to manage pharmacy functions single-handedly
• Familiarity with Cerner order entry system and Omnicell automation preferred
