This role is for a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) / Pharmacy Director at a 503A Compounding Pharmacy specializing in sterile and non-sterile compounding operations. Serving as the highest-level pharmacy leader, the PIC is fully accountable for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient prescription fulfillment and compounding activities. This position involves regulatory oversight and directing daily operations within a dynamic facility.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the legally designated PIC for all associated non-resident state pharmacy licenses.
- Act as primary liaison for Boards of Pharmacy, inspectors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure timely reporting of operational, ownership, facility modifications, or PIC transition changes.
- Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding operations with full compliance to state, federal, FDA 503A, and USP standards.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Supervise pharmacists, supervisors, technicians, and production staff.
- Manage daily batch record creation, execution, review, and approval processes.
- Support production scheduling for on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and capacity planning.
Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager.
- In-depth knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, and relevant state and federal regulations specific to 503A compounding.
- Proven experience leading audits and managing regulatory inspections.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Flexibility to work Saturdays, if needed
