Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Columbia, Missouri

An inpatient behavioral health facility in Columbia, MO is seeking an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy to oversee pharmacy operations during a transition period. This assignment begins April 29 with two days of cross-training, with solo responsibility starting May 1 until a permanent hire is in place.

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• 30-minute unpaid meal break

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations and hospital policies
• Manage day-to-day pharmacy operations for the behavioral health inpatient unit
• Oversee medication repackaging processes using Milt/Medi-dose or HCL systems
• Handle medication inventory management, including loading drugs into automated dispensing machines and running restock reports
• Collaborate effectively with hospital staff to support patient care

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Valid Missouri Pharmacist License is required
• Experience with Omnicell automated dispensing machines is preferred
• Knowledge of repackaging medications and use of Milt/Medi-dose or HCL technology is highly desirable
• Basic understanding of automated machine drug loading and inventory restocking procedures
