An inpatient behavioral health facility in Columbia, MO, is seeking an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy to join their team immediately. This role involves leading pharmacy operations, overseeing medication management, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while working closely with clinical staff to support patient care.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing daily pharmacy activities and supervising pharmacy staff
- Overseeing medication dispensing, repackaging, and inventory control
- Utilizing automated systems for drug loading and restocking
- Ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Missouri Pharmacist License required
- Experience with Omnicell medication management systems preferred
- Familiarity with repackaging medications using Milt, Medi-Dose, or HCL
- Basic understanding of loading drugs into automated machines and running restock reports
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
Schedule and Location:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid meal break
- Based in Columbia, Missouri
This interim assignment starts on April 29 with two days of cross-training, with full responsibilities beginning May 1. The position will continue until a permanent Pharmacist in Charge is hired.
