Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Columbia, Missouri

An opportunity has opened for a qualified Interim Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations at a behavioral health inpatient facility in St Charles, MO. This contract position is expected to last about four weeks or until a permanent pharmacist is hired. Working Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid meal break, this role requires leadership and hands-on pharmacy management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead pharmacy operations to ensure safe and effective medication management within the inpatient behavioral health setting
• Utilize automated dispensing systems and maintain medication inventories
• Repackage medications accurately using systems such as Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL
• Generate and review restock reports to monitor pharmacy supplies
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and institutional policies

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Missouri pharmacist license
• Experience with Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets is preferred
• Familiarity with repackaging processes and automated medication systems
• Strong organizational skills to manage day-to-day pharmacy functions efficiently
• Ability to proactively address challenges in a fast-paced healthcare environment
