Located in Lancaster, PA, this full-time onsite position offers a unique opportunity to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for a specialty closed-door pharmacy preparing for launch. Targeting a mid-June start, the role is temp-to-hire and well suited to a pharmacist eager to lead pharmacy operations and compliance in a start-up environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as PIC for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure, ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance
- Lead pharmacy licensing, regulatory submissions, and prepare for Board of Pharmacy inspections
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy policies
- Ensure adherence to all state and federal pharmacy regulations including DEA requirements
- Support operational setup including workflow design, compliance frameworks, and quality systems
- Oversee post-launch pharmacy operations focusing on dispensing accuracy, safety, and regulatory adherence
- Maintain audit readiness and manage relationships with regulatory inspectors
- Collaborate with leadership teams to support a successful pharmacy launch and scale-up
- Assist with potential future multi-state pharmacy licensing as the organization grows
Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required)
- Prior PIC or leadership pharmacy experience strongly preferred
- Proven knowledge of pharmacy operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Experience in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy settings is a plus
- Familiarity with state Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations
- Experience supporting audits, inspections, or pharmacy startups highly desirable
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
