Pharmacist in Charge in Elizabethtown, PA

A specialty pharmacy organization is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch and ongoing operations of a new closed-door pharmacy in Lancaster, PA. This role is pivotal in shaping pharmacy workflows, regulatory compliance, and quality standards, from licensing through full operational launch.

Important Requirement:
Once operational (target launch October 2026), the PIC must be physically on-site full-time whenever the pharmacy is open, as mandated by the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy.

Position Tracks:

Track 1 – Remote PIC (Licensing & Startup)

• Manage PA Board of Pharmacy application as PIC remotely during licensing and startup phases
• Assist with DEA registration, SOP development, and inspection preparation
• Attend Board inspection onsite
• Ideal for candidates willing to relocate to Lancaster and transition to full-time onsite PIC

Track 2 – Permanent On-Site PIC

• Full-time onsite PIC starting at or before pharmacy launch in October 2026
• Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as PIC responsible for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure and compliance
• Lead licensing, regulatory submissions, and inspection readiness
• Develop and maintain SOPs and pharmacy policies
• Ensure adherence to all state and federal pharmacy laws, including DEA regulations
• Oversee pharmacy operations, dispensing accuracy, and safety post-launch
• Maintain audit readiness and liaise with regulatory bodies during inspections
• Collaborate with leadership for successful pharmacy launch and growth

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license required
• Experience as Pharmacist-in-Charge or pharmacy leadership preferred
• Knowledge of pharmacy operations, compliance, Board of Pharmacy, and DEA regulations
• Background in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy preferred
• Experience with audits, inspections, or startup pharmacy environments highly desirable
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
