A specialty pharmacy organization is seeking a skilled Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to oversee the launch and ongoing management of a new closed-door pharmacy in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This role offers a leadership opportunity in a start-up setting, guiding pharmacy operations through licensure, inspection readiness, and full operational launch. The PIC will be instrumental in establishing compliance with regulatory bodies, developing operational workflows, and ensuring quality standards from build-out to dispensing.

Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite
Start Date: Mid-June (Target)
Important: Once operational (target launch October 2026), the PIC must be on-site full-time to meet Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy requirements. A licensed pharmacist must be present whenever the pharmacy is open.

Role Tracks Available:

  • Track 1 – Remote PIC (Licensing & Startup):
    Work remotely during licensure and startup phases, listed as PIC on Board application, assist with DEA registration, SOP development, and Board inspection preparation. Must attend the Board inspection onsite and ideally relocate to Lancaster post-launch.
  • Track 2 – Permanent On-Site PIC:
    Full-time, onsite role beginning at or before October 2026 launch. Relocation assistance available.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as PIC for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure and ongoing compliance
  • Lead licensing, regulatory submissions, and Board inspection preparation
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and pharmacy policies
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, including DEA requirements
  • Support operational setup: workflow design, compliance, quality systems
  • Oversee post-launch operations including dispensing accuracy and safety
  • Maintain audit readiness and liaise during regulatory inspections
  • Collaborate with leadership to facilitate successful pharmacy launch and growth
  • Potentially assist with multi-state licensing as the organization expands

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required)
  • Experience in PIC or pharmacy leadership roles preferred
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Background in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy preferred
  • Strong familiarity with state Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations
  • Experience supporting audits, inspections, or pharmacy startups highly desirable
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
