Retail Pharmacist in Charge - Elk Grove, CA

An Interim Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) opportunity is available for an immediate start in the Sacramento/El Dorado Hills area. This contract role is designed for an experienced retail pharmacist ready to manage full pharmacy operations in a dynamic retail environment.

Location: Elk Grove, CA
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Closed Sundays

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee complete prescription processing and dispensing, including communications with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
• Manage and supervise pharmacy technicians, ensuring adherence to protocols and quality standards.
• Open and close the pharmacy, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Fulfill Pharmacist In Charge duties, including completion of all necessary regulatory paperwork.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must hold a current California pharmacist license.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in retail pharmacy practice.
• Prior experience as a Pharmacist In Charge in a retail setting is highly preferred.
• Immunization certification and valid BLS card are required.
• Familiarity with McKesson Enterprise (ERx) pharmacy systems is necessary.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

This contract assignment spans approximately 8 to 13 weeks, with an immediate start date. It provides a chance to demonstrate leadership and professional expertise in a busy retail pharmacy setting.
