A rehabilitation hospital is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations and provide hands-on staffing support. This role offers the opportunity to manage pharmacy services in a 36-bed facility focused on patient rehabilitation.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Provide direct pharmacy staffing coverage, working approximately 40 hours per week.
- Oversee and support pharmacy technicians during shifts.
- Manage medication distribution systems, including Pyxis automation.
- Utilize the Wellsky pharmacy information system for accurate record-keeping and order processing.
- Perform sterile and non-sterile IV compounding (no chemotherapy involved).
- Handle weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage as needed.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist with authorization to serve as Pharmacist in Charge.
- Proven experience in pharmacy management and staff supervision.
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems, preferably Wellsky.
- Familiarity with Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems.
- Competency in IV compounding techniques.
- Adaptability to provide coverage during extended hours and weekends.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM pharmacy hours
- Requires occasional weekend, after-hours, and on-call availability
