A skilled Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is needed to oversee pharmacy operations and provide direct patient care at a 36-bed rehabilitation hospital in Ellendale, DE. This contract position requires a dedicated professional to staff the pharmacy 40 hours per week, ensuring efficient medication management and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing all pharmacy activities and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide direct pharmacy services including dispensing, verification, and medication order review.
  • Manage daily staffing, supervising one technician per shift.
  • Utilize Wellsky pharmacy information system for medication management.
  • Operate Pyxis automation system effectively.
  • Perform IV compounding duties (non-chemotherapy).
  • Support weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage as needed to maintain continuous pharmacy operations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient care in a rehab hospital setting.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Valid pharmacist license in the state.
  • Previous experience as Pharmacist in Charge preferred.
  • Proficient with Wellsky pharmacy information system and Pyxis automation.
  • Skilled in sterile IV compounding (non-chemo).
  • Ability to supervise pharmacy staff and manage workflows.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in a hospital or rehab environment a plus.
