Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Ephrata, Pennsylvania

An expanding specialty pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch of a new closed-door pharmacy in Pennsylvania. This opportunity offers a pivotal leadership role in establishing a pharmacy operation from licensure and compliance through to full-scale dispensing and ongoing management.

The selected PIC will be instrumental in guiding regulatory compliance, developing operational workflows, and maintaining quality standards as the facility transitions from startup to active service.

Schedule:

• Full-Time
• Onsite (once the pharmacy is operational)
  Start Date: Mid-June (Target for initial phase)

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as PIC for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure and ongoing regulatory compliance.
• Lead pharmacy licensing efforts, including DEA registration and Board of Pharmacy inspection preparation.
• Develop and maintain pharmacy policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure adherence to all state and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Support operational setup including workflow design and quality assurance.
• Oversee post-launch pharmacy operations focusing on dispensing accuracy, safety, and compliance.
• Maintain audit readiness and act as primary point of contact during inspections.
• Collaborate with leadership to support a successful pharmacy launch and expansion.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required).
• Prior experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or pharmacy leadership role strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmacy operations, compliance, DEA, and state Board regulations.
• Experience in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy settings preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to support audits, inspections, or startup environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Role Tracks:

• Track 1 – Remote PIC (Licensing & Startup): Ability to work remotely during licensing and startup phases with eventual relocation preferred but not required; must be physically present for Board inspection.
• Track 2 – Permanent On-Site PIC: Full-time, onsite role starting at or before the October 2026 launch; relocation assistance offered for qualified candidates.
