An established specialty pharmacy organization is seeking a qualified Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch of a new closed-door pharmacy operation in Lancaster, PA. This temp-to-hire opportunity offers a key leadership role in a start-up environment beginning mid-June, with full-time onsite hours. The chosen candidate will guide pharmacy operations through licensure, inspection readiness, and full operational launch, helping build foundational processes from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure and ongoing regulatory compliance
  • Lead pharmacy licensing efforts, regulatory submissions, and prepare for Board of Pharmacy inspections
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy policies
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, including DEA standards
  • Support operational setup by designing workflows, compliance structures, and quality systems
  • Oversee post-launch pharmacy operations focusing on dispensing accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain audit readiness and act as primary liaison during inspections
  • Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to drive a successful pharmacy launch and scaling efforts
  • Assist with future multi-state licensing as the organization expands

Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required)
  • Proven experience as a PIC or in pharmacy leadership roles preferred
  • Solid understanding of pharmacy operations, compliance, and regulatory standards
  • Background in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy environments preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations
  • Experience with audits, inspections, or in pharmacy startup settings highly desirable
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
