An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead a newly launched sterile compounding operation within a growing telehealth-affiliated pharmacy. This role offers a unique chance to provide regulatory oversight and support the operational launch of sterile compounding in a start-up environment with robust remote leadership and clinical support.
Location: Doral, FL
Type: Part-Time Contract (~20 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Start: Immediate (current PIC resigned effective 1/30)
About the Pharmacy:
This small but rapidly expanding pharmacy specializes in GLP-1 medications, hormone replacement therapies (primarily for female hormones), and plans future expansion into testosterone treatments. Having operated a non-sterile compounding line for the past year, the site is now poised to introduce sterile compounding services. The team consists of about five on-site employees complemented by remote operational and clinical support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the official Pharmacist-in-Charge with your name on the pharmacy license
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
- Provide oversight during the sterile compounding launch and help refine workflows
- Review and update policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards
- Collaborate closely with the incoming Director of Pharmacy Operations
- Cover pharmacist duties as needed during operational hours
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Pharmacist License required
- Ideally licensed in multiple additional states (AK, IL, IA, KS, MI, NE, VA, TX, KY, WV preferred; OH, MA, LA are a plus)
- Previous experience as a PIC or Pharmacy Manager with full PIC responsibility
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy compliance and operations
- Start-up pharmacy experience and compounding background highly valued
- Retail experience and willingness to train on compounding considered
