A retail HIV/AIDS specialty pharmacy in Fort Myers, FL, is seeking an Interim Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to cover a 16-week paternity leave. This position begins with a two-week training period alongside the current PIC starting August 24, followed by full responsibility for the pharmacy.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

This role requires managing a single-pharmacist site without pharmacy technician support. The daily prescription volume is approximately 20-30, so the pharmacist must independently handle dispensing and operational duties. Ongoing training and support are provided after the initial onboarding period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage pharmacy operations and medication dispensing as the sole pharmacist on-site
  • Provide exceptional patient care and clear communication with patients and healthcare providers
  • Maintain punctuality, reliability, and a positive professional attitude
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations for HIV/AIDS medication management

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possession of an active Florida pharmacist license
  • Minimum one year of retail pharmacy experience
  • HIV/AIDS dispensing experience is required and must be clearly detailed on the resume
  • Experience with QS1 pharmacy software is highly preferred; please confirm if applicable
  • Exceptional communication skills and dedication to patient care

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidates must be comfortable working without pharmacy technician assistance
