A mail order pharmacy in Alabama is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee operations and ensure regulatory compliance. This role requires an active pharmacist license in both Illinois and Alabama, as the Illinois license governs PIC responsibilities. Additional licenses in Tennessee or Georgia are a plus but not mandatory.

Schedule:
- Approximately 8 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling, provided all PIC duties are fulfilled
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
- Oversee pharmacy policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality assurance programs
- Supervise medication dispensing accuracy and maintain patient safety within mail order fulfillment
- Manage documentation and reporting to meet Illinois PIC compliance requirements
- Supervise pharmacy personnel involved in mail order operations
- Oversee controlled substance handling, including DEA recordkeeping and reporting
- Prepare for audits, inspections, and implement corrective action plans as needed
- Ensure proper storage, handling, packaging, and shipping of medications
- Review and approve updates to SOPs, compliance logs, and regulatory documents
- Serve as primary contact for state boards, accreditation organizations, and auditors
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active pharmacist licenses in Illinois and Alabama (required)
- Prior experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or in pharmacy leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of mail order pharmacy operations, regulations, and workflows
- Ability to work independently, managing regulatory oversight effectively with limited hours
