This pharmacist leadership role in Fort White, FL offers the opportunity to combine clinical expertise with management responsibilities in a direct hire or contract-to-hire capacity. The position operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm in a supportive environment with an experienced team including two full-time pharmacists, two full-time technicians, and coverage by a weekend pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders with accuracy.
  • Perform and oversee sterile compounding in compliance with USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
  • Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations, ensuring quality and safety.
  • Review medication profiles to check for allergies, interactions, dosing accuracy, and compatibility.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train pharmacy staff and technicians.
  • Maintain cleanroom standards, aseptic techniques, and rigorous environmental monitoring.
  • Manage quality assurance, medication safety, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee inventory management, controlled substances, and full pharmacy operations.
  • Develop and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff training programs.
  • Lead staff meetings and uphold regulatory compliance with OSHA, DEA, Board of Pharmacy, and company policies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols using appropriate PPE.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Florida pharmacist license in good standing.
  • 3-5 years of sterile compounding experience handling both hazardous and non-hazardous products, meeting USP, DEA, OSHA, and Board standards.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work in sterile environments and manage pharmacy operations.
  • Pharmacy management experience required.
  • Recent (last 3-5 years) experience in home infusion, hospital, or oncology infusion pharmacy preferred.
  • Ability to support a low volume setting processing roughly 100 scripts daily, with chemotherapy compounding approximately 15-20 per day.
