An immediate need exists for a Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead and develop operations at a growing specialty pharmacy site. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers the chance to establish and oversee pharmacy services that prioritize patient care, compliance, and operational excellence.
Position Details:
- Location: Foxborough, MA (Onsite)
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; weekend on-call rotation
- Duration: 13 weeks with possibility to extend to 26 weeks
- Start: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage prescription review, verification, dispensing, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards including State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, URAC, and ACHC.
- Provide expert patient counseling focused on specialty disease states and medication therapy management.
- Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and interns to maintain high operational standards.
- Collaborate closely with Intake, Referral, Nursing/Clinical, Reimbursement, and Pharmacy Operations teams to ensure seamless patient onboarding and prescription fulfillment.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records, handle quality assurance measures, and resolve incidents efficiently.
- Participate in weekend on-call rotations as part of leadership responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License required; Connecticut license preferred or willingness to obtain promptly.
- Bachelor of Science or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in specialty, infusion, hospital, or related pharmacy settings.
- Strong background in specialty pharmacy operations, infusion services, payer requirements, and clinical coordination.
- Prior management or PIC experience essential, particularly in infusion or specialty pharmacy.
- Expertise with CareTend software preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, clinical judgment, and multitasking capability.
