An opportunity is available for a seasoned Long-Term Care Pharmacist in Charge to lead and manage a closed-door pharmacy serving approximately 600 prescriptions daily. This role prioritizes candidates with substantial LTC pharmacy management experience and a proven ability to sustain regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
- Manage daily pharmacy operations, including prescription dispensing and patient counseling.
- Maintain comprehensive records of pharmacy transactions and inventory controls.
- Develop and enforce policies to promote safe, efficient pharmacy workflows.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy staff, cultivating a high-quality service environment.
- Oversee medication inventory, balancing stock adequacy with waste reduction.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurers to resolve medication-related issues.
- Address customer questions and concerns with professional and timely responses.
- Stay informed on pharmacy industry developments and regulatory updates.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and conduct regular compliance audits.
- Maintain a safe, clean workspace compliant with infection control standards.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active and clear Massachusetts Pharmacist license.
- Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in Long-Term Care pharmacy.
- Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably within LTC settings.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems, willingness to train on Frameworks.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Schedule Details:
- Primarily daytime hours Monday through Friday, with occasional evening coverage.
- Weekend shifts as needed.
