A long-term care pharmacist-in-charge is needed for a closed-door LTC pharmacy in Foxborough, Massachusetts. This direct hire position offers an opportunity to lead a pharmacy that has been without a dedicated pharmacist-in-charge for over three years, providing a vital role in its operational success. The ideal candidate will have strong LTC management experience, as retail pharmacy leadership is not preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records of all pharmacy transactions, including inventory and controlled substances.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Provide leadership and support to pharmacy staff, including performance evaluations and ongoing training.
  • Manage inventory levels effectively in collaboration with the inventory manager.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to resolve medication-related issues.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints with excellent service and timely resolution.
  • Stay current on industry trends, new medications, and regulatory changes.
  • Lead pharmacy quality improvement initiatives and conduct audits to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and infection-controlled work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Active, clear Massachusetts Pharmacist license.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in long-term care pharmacy.
  • Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably in long-term care.
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn Frameworks software.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, primarily day shift.
  • Evening and weekend coverage as needed.

This role requires a dedicated professional ready to bring stability and leadership to a busy pharmacy processing approximately 600 prescriptions daily. Candidates capable of committing to a direct hire arrangement are encouraged to apply immediately to support this critical operation.
