A long-term care pharmacist-in-charge is needed for a closed-door LTC pharmacy in Foxborough, Massachusetts. This direct hire position offers an opportunity to lead a pharmacy that has been without a dedicated pharmacist-in-charge for over three years, providing a vital role in its operational success. The ideal candidate will have strong LTC management experience, as retail pharmacy leadership is not preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care.
- Maintain accurate records of all pharmacy transactions, including inventory and controlled substances.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Provide leadership and support to pharmacy staff, including performance evaluations and ongoing training.
- Manage inventory levels effectively in collaboration with the inventory manager.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to resolve medication-related issues.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints with excellent service and timely resolution.
- Stay current on industry trends, new medications, and regulatory changes.
- Lead pharmacy quality improvement initiatives and conduct audits to maintain compliance.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and infection-controlled work environment.
Qualifications:
- Active, clear Massachusetts Pharmacist license.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in long-term care pharmacy.
- Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably in long-term care.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn Frameworks software.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, primarily day shift.
- Evening and weekend coverage as needed.
